When you actually sit down and crunch the numbers, it actually comes out that living in your own apartment can be significantly cheaper than a dorm room. The biggest reason for this is when you live in a dormitory; you are paying a premium for services that you may not otherwise use if they were not packaged into the tuition already.
Live By Your Own Rules
There is a set of rules that every on-campus resident must abide by, and sometimes those conflict with age or the ideals of the students themselves. For instance, every dorm building has a curfew which is something that many students feel is odd considering they are adults living on their own. This is not the case with Indiana University Student apartments.
