Eclipse Season
Did you know there was an eclipse season? Difference in Solar Eclipse and Lunar Eclipse
Solar and lunar eclipses are very similar is that one of the three celestial objects closest to Earth is eclipsing the light of another one of the objects by passing in between the two, but that is about where the similarities end. A solar eclipse is extremely rarer than a lunar eclipse. If it wasn’t for the way the Moon and Earth are tilted, and they were in more alignment, lunar eclipses would happen every full moon. Whenever a lunar eclipse occurs, all long as the sky is clear wherever you are, you can see the lunar eclipse, where as a solar eclipse can only be seen based on where you are located on Earth, and they only happen for a very short amount of time. One of the most important differences is that you can enjoy looking at a lunar eclipse with the naked eye, but attempting to look at a solar eclipse without some type of eye protection can cause serious damage to your eyes.
