When it comes to cooling residential or commercial patios and decks, there are three basic options to consider. One is the use of fans, which provide a gentle to a stronger breeze and a low to moderate cooling effect.
The second option is to use a misting system, which is a more effective choice of environmental control systems than a basic fan. The misting system, when properly designed and manufactured, will provide a fine micron droplet sized mist that flash evaporates, instantly dropping the ambient temperature as much as 40 degrees.
The third option, which combines the cooling capacity of the other two, is the cool mist fans. These incorporate the fine micron droplet mist production of the misting system with the air movement of the fan.
The Benefits
The biggest benefit of cool mist fans is the ability to quickly circulate the nice, cool air over a relatively large surface area. Some of these fans can cover as much as nine hundred square feet, which is a larger sized residential patio or deck space.
Of course, the fans can be mounted in a series to provide even more coverage. For larger residential areas as well as for commercial patio spaces, more than one fan may be required.
With the right choice of nozzles to create the fine mist and by using a pump to maintain pressure on the system, these cool mist fans are very low maintenance. The anti-drip nozzles and quality brass or stainless steel nozzles will occasionally need cleaning and replacing based on the quality of water as well as the amount of use.
The gentle breeze produced by the fans is a nice addition to the cooling air provided through the flash evaporation process. Ideal for large or small areas, they are the perfect summer addition to any outdoor living space.
