Are you thinking about backhoe rentals in Los Angeles? Maybe you never ran one of these machines before or it’s been a long time. Why not go over the basics to make sure you know what’s going on? Here is some information to help you get started.

Familiarization

Sit in the cab of the tractor and familiarize yourself with all the controls. In fact, you should ask your backhoe rentals professionals in Los Angeles to show you all the controls. If it’s been several years, the newer models may have features that you’ve never seen before. Your equipment rental pros are more than happy to give you a guided tour.

Bucket Operation

Here are basics on opening up your bucket;

 * Lower stabilizers – this ensures that the machine is steady and won’t rock while your digging or loading.

 * Unlock the boom

 * Extend the backhoe (usually the stick on the left-hand side)

 * Move the right-hand stick forward or to the right – this should open up the bucket.

Lower Your Boom

Push forward the boom operating stick, and it will lower. However, make sure there is nothing in the way before you begin.

Digging with the Backhoe

Push the right-hand stick forward or to the side, and the bucket should begin to curl inward. Next, lower the bucket and will start to dig into the earth.

Lifting

Raise the bucket and make sure it keeps curled as it comes up. You’ll need to use two controls at once to raise the load and not lose it. Make sure you don’t pick up too much dirt at one time, or you could spill it.

Dumping

Keep your engine speed up and push the sticks to open up the bucket. It won’t hurt the engine to run at full-throttle. Remember to ask your backhoe rentals professionals in Los Angeles for assistance.
