Hard water is water that contains a high amount of minerals. Usually, these minerals are calcium, magnesium bicarbonate, and/or similar ions. The water assumes theses minerals when it passes through limestone or chalk deposits. When water is flowing normally, these minerals are dissolved in the water and might not even be noticeable. Oftentimes, the first indication of hard water is the soap that does not produce suds. However, the effects can be more insidious.

When water evaporates, it tends to leave behind the minerals previously dissolved in it. These deposits are left in water heaters, teapots, heating systems, and anywhere else that water evaporates. Over time, these minerals build up and jeopardize the functionality of certain devices. Also, they’re just plain ugly and hard to remove. The simplest process adds a water softener to prevent this from ever happening; however, if you already have limescale, an electronic descaler can still help

How it Works

An electronic water conditioning system operates by blasting water your pipes with oscillating frequencies that change the size, shape, and structure of ions. Calcium ions are naturally adhesive, and bind to surfaces as the water passes through or evaporates. After being bombarded with structure-altering frequencies from an electronic descaler, they are no longer adhesive. That means they pass right through your plumbing without sticking to your water heater or shower head.

But, what about the limescale already built up? Once the ions have been reshaped to be no longer adhesive, your water begins dissolving the buildup in your appliances. Over time, the soap scum and limescale should decrease.

Benefits

Soap dissolves in soft water. That’s why you can work it into a lather for cleaning and bathing. However, in hard water, the soap molecules bind to the sticky calcium ions. This results in the soap being unable to lather properly. That makes it much harder to clean your dishes as well as yourself. Also, these bound soap molecules create the dirty, hard to clean stains typically known as soap scum. An electronic descaler will free up the ions already in suspension in the water so that your water can begin to dissolve soap scum.

Hard water is thought to have some health benefits. Calcium is an essential element of life and healthy bones, so it makes sense that having more in your water shouldn’t be all bad. The effects of the calcium ions just outweigh the health benefits. If you were to reshape those ions, though, you could reap the health rewards without sacrificing the health of your appliances.

Basically, hard water can make cleaning more difficult and create hundreds of dollars’ worth of damage to your plumbing. A simple system of oscillating frequencies can help solve your problems.
