Most people are aware of the definition of the word perforate, which means to create holes or penetrate. Therefore, a stainless steel perforated sheet is a piece of stainless steel sheet metal that has been punched to create a large number of symmetrical holes in order to create a specific, elaborate pattern.

The patterns on perforated sheets of stainless steel are not always the same. These patterns differ depending on the distances between each hole, the size of the holes, the manner used to punch the holes, the thickness of the stainless steel sheet and the shape of the holes.

Why Choose Perforated Stainless Steel Sheets

A stainless steel perforated sheet is easy to handle in addition to being quite versatile. Generally, the stainless steel sheet is constructed from coil. These sheets can have a width of as much as 60 inches and can measure to any length.

However, the length of a perforated stainless steel typically does not measure more than 250 inches. The reason for this is to make sure that there are not any complications or difficulties with shipping such materials. In fact, one of the reasons that perforated stainless steel is built into the shape of a sheet is because the flatness of the material will make it much easier to ship.

Perforated Stainless Steel Design

When it comes to perforated stainless steel design, it is actually the diverse pattern that draws the eye of the customers. Well over 2,000 different patterns of holes can be made on a sheet of stainless steel. In other words, the possible variations and combinations are quite literally without end.

While there are several different patterns that can be created on a stainless steel perforated sheet, they can be broken down into six main categories. Round patterns can be straight, 40 degrees or 60 degrees. Squared patterns can be straight or staggered.

Geometric patterns are primarily characterized by their geometric shapes, including pentagon, quadrilateral, hexagon and more. Slot patterns include the square straight, the round straight as well as the round staggered.

Decorative patterns are generally shaped into the form of tiles. Modern patterns are those that have been developed in the 21st century. These patterns include designs such as hex orbit, double checkered, round orbit and square orbit.

Among the most common uses for stainless steel perforated sheet is in the architecture industry, where they are used as sunscreens to control and filter light. However, the list of uses for this product is quite extensive.
