Going off to college is a very exciting event. Keep in mind, though, that there are still other decisions that must be made in regard to where you will live. Many incoming students think, almost by default, that dorm rooms are always the best option. However, when compared side by side, College Station’s off-campus housing is usually the best choice. When you take the time to look around, a student apartment can come to be a lot cheaper than a dorm room amounts to. The main reason for this is that there are premiums and added fees that the college campus will charge, but this is not the case when it comes to student apartments.
Convenient Parking
This is a benefit that is not appreciated until you experience it, but the fact that you have a dedicated parking space for apartment dwellers is almost priceless. When you live in a dormitory, there is also parking space provided, but you must pay for a parking pass, and you could very well end up quite far away from where you actually live. This becomes inconvenient in times of bad weather.
Learn Responsibility
When it comes to personal responsibility, it is a crucial thing to learn in the process of becoming an adult, but it is also nearly impossible when you are living with all of the rules that come with dorm life. From curfews to visitor restrictions, it’s hard to be an adult when you are treated as a child. Living in College Station off-campus housing gives you a chance to develop and grow.
