Wire harness cables are used to power many of the products we use every day.

Wire Harness 101
A wire harness, also known as a cable harness, is essentially just an assembly of wires or cables that transmit electrical power or signals. These cables are bound together by cable ties, straps, cable lacing, electrical tape, or a combination of these and other materials. They provide several advantages over loose wires and cables, including being better secured against the negative effects of abrasions, vibrations, and moisture. Having all the cables bound together also decreases the risks of electrical fires.

The Wire Harness Assembly Process
The assembly process starts with a design according to electrical or geometric requirements. This diagram is provided either on paper or a monitor to begin the process. Wires are initially cut to the desired length with a special machine. They may also be printed on during the cutting process by a similar machine. The ends of the wires are then stripped to expose their cores, which are fitted with connector housings or terminals. The cables are then assembled and clamped together on an assembly board according to their specific design to form the harness. The wire harness assembly process ends with the fitting of any protective sleeves, conduits, or extruded yarn.

Uses in Energy Industry
Wire harnesses are utilized in the energy industry for their logistical support and technical capabilities. They’re also commonly used in popular alternative energy sources like charging stations and wind power. This technology is utilized daily in solar inverter systems, oil refinery analytical and safety equipment, LED lighting systems, smart utility metering, and programmable communication thermostats.

Wire harnesses are dimensionally accurate and can conform to industry standards, making them perfect for use in vehicles.
