Summer is finally here and the New York summer family fun-things-to-do bucket list is endless. Check out all of the many kid-friendly activities, fun-packed fairs, hiking trails, historic house tours, live music festivals and once-in-a-lifetime events this great state has to offer. Why not start with these top three family (and kid) approved sizzling summer fun activities:

Music Concerts and Festivals

Summer is a wonderful time to enjoy outdoor music and festival fun. Delight in the tons of mouth-watering treats at the Polish Festival in Rockland, NY, or even their Sweet Summertime Country Music Festival. Kids will love the crowds of dancing people swaying to the musical beat. Why not check out the State Fair Meadowlands for its 30th anniversary? The little ones will go nuts for the 150 rides and attractions, live entertainment, circus and zoo, and its one-of-a-kind high dive presentation.

Splash it Up with Water Park Fun

What could be better than watching your life flash before your eyes as you zoom down crazy waterslides with your kids? New York has a ton of themed water parks, lazy rivers and water slides to enjoy with the family. There’s even spots specifically designated for wee ones 6-years and under so they can have fun (and safe) fun too as older kids zip along speedier fun. There’s Sesame Place’s tidal splash pool, Morey’s Piers and Raging Waters, or just enjoy some nice family time at the Ocean Oasis Water Park and Beach Club.

Revisit the Roaring 20s with Your Kids!

Are you looking for something truly unique to try this summer? Then why not check out The Jazz Age Lawn Party and experience what those roaring 20s were like. This year, to celebrate their 10th anniversary, this Prohibition–era themed event is sure to awe people of all ages. There’s a Charleston dancing contest, era-themed dance lessons, a showcase of 1920s “motorcars,” a good old fashioned tug-of-war competition, old time carnival games and vintage portraits. Dress the part since families are all encouraged to look their 20s costume finest.
