With the help and guidance of a professional safari company, you can fulfill a long-time ambition and travel to East Africa to embark upon one of the well-planned wildlife safaris in Kenya. These outings general run from three to seven days beginning with a morning departure from your hotel in Nairobi. On a traditional game drive, you will ride in a four-wheel-drive vehicle with an experienced guide/driver and depending on the schedule, you may be out for a full day or for just a few hours.

Three Days in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve

As an example of one of the three-day wildlife safaris in Kenya, you will visit the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. On the first day, you will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel and driven to the reserve, arriving in time for lunch. The afternoon will be devoted to a game drive followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the tented Ashnil Mara Camp. The entire second day will be spent exploring the reserve with another overnight at the camp. On the last day of your safari, you will go on a morning game drive in the park, then return to Nairobi.

Add Lakes to a Six-Day Safari

Following a morning pickup at your Nairobi hotel, you will be driven to Lake Baringo in time for lunch, after which a boat trip on this fresh-water lake will allow you to see the inhabitants, namely crocodiles and hippos.  You will also find yourself in a splendid bird sanctuary for pelicans, cormorants, the giant eagle owl and scores of other birds. The next day you will drive to Lake Bogoria where flamingos share the environment with hot water springs and geysers. You can see the park on foot, and along the shore you might also see a zebra, gazelle or baboon. Then it’s on to Lake Nakuru National Park, a haven for endangered species, such as the white rhino. On the third day, you will drive through the beautiful Great Rift Valley and arrive at Maasai Mara for lunch and an afternoon game drive. The remainder of your trip will be spent exploring the reserve, after which your experiences on one of the wildlife safaris in Kenya will end with your return to Nairobi.
